Snow is melting

My grandchildren are keeping an eagle eye on the melting snow. They want it GONE in time for the egg hunt. I told them that the Easter bunny could hide eggs in a snow pile . So not to worry... the hunt will go on!!

Lili and Grandpa finished up the birdhouses last night ... earlier they had fixed an older birdhouse Lili made. Last night they assembled two new ones! Lili thinks the pneumatic nailer is the greatest thing!! I think garages aren't the best places to take pictures... especially with a flash!
.......thought I might add an old picture of Lili and her Grandpa working on house repairs back in 2004!

Teddies Worldwide show will be over at 4pm Eastern today....

When I went to bed last night we had, maybe, an inch of snow. At 3 am, just a little bit more. But when I got up at 7 am we had about 8 inches of snow! There were no tracks on our circle... so no Sunday paper!  Bob, my husband, insisted that the bears needed to go sledding. I found on little one in my stash of bear accessories, but nothing for Rupert the bigger bear. So he is sledding on a plastic dish just like we used to do at Syracuse University on dining hall trays!  Rupert is looking upwards and catching snowflakes on his tongue!!

Hovering

James says, " Come and see me and my friends!"
I am hovering over the computer  this weekend. The Teddies Worldwide Online Show started last night. It will end tomorrow.  Five bears have found new homes!!!  Four have been shipped to their new homes... the fifth goes to Russia and so a trip to the Post Office  on Monday is necessary.
If you are wondering why the "hovering"... well PayPal will only let me sell a bear once, but if I want to let lookers know that someone has been adopted... I have to go to my  "page" and change things from available to adopted!!
Here is the  link   if you would like to take a look!

Return from Florida

Our long vacation was really nice. We enjoyed our stay on Sanibel Island, Florida... lots of shelling, bike riding. swimming etc.  And stopping in South Carolina and  Tennessee to visit family was great!  But getting back to our own bed and seeing the kids and grandkids was great. I think the grandkids grew a foot each.

I did have some time for bearmaking... nights especially.  CountryMouse the #1 picture is headed off to the UK.  Lucky the #2 picture is on BearPile and etsy. Ralph the #3 went off to Chicago. Spring the #4 is on etsy

The Tampa competition bear and Madeline the one wearing a vintage hankie dress are heading to a  Florida home... to someone who couldn't attend the show!

Don't forget that the Teddies Worldwide preview is going on. The show itself starts Friday.
Here is the  link .

BTW... Spring's bunny... it is a chocolate bunny or what?  It was needle felted from wool roving with a perle cotton thread French knot eye!

update?

Just a quick update.... we've been having a great time on Sanibel.... long bike rides, shelling, dips in the heated pool, investigating little Sanibel shops, trying out all the beaches ( Sanibel has loads at $2/hr for car parking or free for walkers and bikes)
Different beaches seem to have some different shells... All of them have loads in common, but each seems to have some that are more common there than at the other beaches.  I have found a goodly number of the shells I like!!!
I've also sewn two bears and a rabbit ( during night time/ tv time).  I'm not  sheller with a hat with a built in head lamp for night time shelling!!

Sanibel shells....

Here's my first batch of shells.... and the reason for my Sanibel Stoop !  I found whelks, banded tulips, lettered olives. lace murex, conchs, scallops and more. Some are perfect... some not, but I have ideas for the non-perfect ones!  They've been soaked in bleach and washed and are now out drying on the porch!! I was very careful not to take any with "creatures" inside!! Today's batch is being bleached!!
