When my granddaughter Lili saw Fleur she immediately wanted her.... and then decided she wanted me to make her one like Fleur but red with purple petals. I have some red mohair and a huge purple flower so I will do some thinking and figure out how to make one that would stand up to an almost eight year old and her friends! Fleur is 7 inches tall to ear tip ... and will be on BearPile soon.
"The Divine Miss M(Mousie)" and Charley the Chimp are both needle felted. They are 6 to 7 inches tall, string jointed and have black onyx bead eyes. Soon they will be up on BearPile. The Divine Miss M is up onBearPile.. now (Tues.) it's Charley's turn.
I will be at the Bright Star St. Louis Show next Saturday... so the new "stuff" is under wraps. I want to go with bears and friends that no one has seen!
Packy the Pachyderm loves peanuts so I made him some from polymer clay ( no allergic reaction to these!). Packy is about 7" tall and made from scroungy Schulte mohair... big head style. He waiting his turn to go on BearPile....
I'm still struggling with pictures of him... his trunk gets in the way!
BillieBunny is a new version of my smaller anime-style pattern. I had cut out a bear... but decided to make some "changes" ! AND make some needle felted Easter eggs...
I was in the car yesterday listening to NPR when someone spoke to a guest calling him "Iggy". I knew right away that this new little guy had to have that name! I don't know why... he just did! So here is Iggy... a small 5" anime-style bear. His mohair came from Schulte... it's sort of scroungy! His head is jointed with a cotter pin/hardboard disc; but the rest is string jointed.
I made Parker ( Parker because he is a "nosy parker" and into everything!) in between tasks at my son's home! Then I found this metal cup at an antique store in Vinita, OK right on ROUTE 66!
After I took pictures, I remembered that Parker didn't have whiskers! So I added them!
we're down in Tulsa helping our son unpack and settle in ( still). He's been gone so much on business that he hasn't done much in the last three weeks. So... the bears stayed behind in Kansas City and some are waiting for updating/revamping. The Bright Star Promotions St. Louis bear show is coming up... March 27th. I will finish revamping and have some new things by then!
I found the hankie but Nancy Hauk of Texas made it into the cutest little smocked dress which just fitted Robin... and then I found a tiny little basket which I filled with "grass" and little colored Easter eggs ( polymer resin).
Then I changed her pictures on BearPile and posted her on ArtFire .
I've been making bears forever... I started over 6000 bears ago. This blog will be about what's going on in my bear making life...
actually I am doing more than bears now... so occasionally there will be something different! And you may see things about my favorite grandchildren!
