Woke up this morning at 6 am to the noise of men trampling overhead!! The roofers are here! They moved everything on the deck and my potted plants out front.... laid plastic sheeting all around and started tearing off the old roofing - wood shingles from when the house was built in 1976 and asphalt shingles from 1991.
Lots of noise... the house shakes...things slide from on top to the plastic below!!! Then they use the plastic as bags to load the old shingles into the trailer to be taken away!!
The cats are puzzled... Tigger wanders around and then watches from a window. Not sure where Jack is hiding.
Since we had wood shingles, there is no sheathing. Another conveyor belt truck sits in the driveway waiting for the roofers to need the load of sheathing it carries! When they get the old stuff off I am hoping no one falls through into the attic!!
With all this going on and the plastic .... I am housebound.
I will add more as the saga continues...
9.20 am ... the conveyor is taking the sheathing up!
