A biopsy did find some cancer ... and maybe some more... So today meant a long PET can ( an injection of uranium and 2 plus hours to see where other cancer sites can be found)
More medical tests and doctor visits in the future....

I haven't been around due to a stroke and a too long stay in the hospital.... yuck to it all! I am hope and hopefully recuperating!
Tigger not sure with his no Jack being going...
Tigger seems a little better....he actually ate wet food for the first time and finished a small thing of Sheba! He still is keeping track of us!
Brought out two scratching pads which we had saved when Jack started using them for litter trays. Tigger used them to work on his super sharp nails right away!!
Here's hoping he's getting used to being a solitary cat ( as long as he can keep track of us!)
Yes we miss Jack the gray stiped cat but I think Tigger is missing him even more and confused . He is not eating much and wants us in sight. Bob is going to empty his boxes daily to monitor things. He will check with the vet if too worrisome.
No ... not another cat!!
Bob and I have been helping financially with Phoenix Family's backpack giveaway.... here's a photo of one of the recipients!!!
By the way.. 1000 backpacks were given out!!This morning was check up time for my cardiologist.... everything fine and we, the doctor and I enjoyed a discussion about the primary elections last! Heart doing fine...
Then it was off to Hobby Lobby to pick up some holiday floral-type accessories... couldn't find where the polymer resin (Sculpey) had been moved to ...so will pick up some at Michael's on my next visit...
Convinced Bob to stop at LaMar's donuts ... just had to have an apple fritter. Bob's Father really enjoyed them... The La Mar's weren't quite a good as Topp's in Geneva, NY !
I have really decided to "retire" from bear making..... December will be my last show. So I emailed another bear maker out in WA to find out it she wanted my mohair scraps! She was delighted and I am filling a box! This will help with the decluttering!!
Made a blueberry crostata...one of the best good looking ones... gorgeous brown crust and raw sugar sprinkles!
He isn't eating any wet food just his dry.
Hope he will settle into his new position as "only"
Jack the 20 plus striped cat took a turn for the worse yesterday... He didn't seem to know where he was or how to get up onto the couch When Bob put him on a blanket on the couch when we went to bed , he was sure Jack would be gone this morning. But no! But he didn't eat anything... Bob took him to the vet for a quality of life check this afternoon and it was decided to put Jack to sleep. The process went painlessly.
We have not recognized that it was time with other pets but this time we did... Nice to have a picture of him when he was younger!!
The veggie stand "called" to me this morning!! Off we went and the tomatoes, cantaloupe, zucchini and peaches went into bags for us to take home!!
It seems like this years cantaloupes are bigger than usual .... bigger than basketballs!...when we got home I divided ours up into two glass with plastic tops containers! We'll be eating for days!
I also managed a large potato salad ...for dinner tonight! Bob's Mother taught me how to make it and it is our summertime comfort food ( for the whole family). I start it in the morning and after adding the mayo, apple cider vinegar , salt and freshly ground pepper to the potatoes, onions and shallots let it rest till dinner!
The salad was good... the tomato and bacon open face sandwiches were good and the cantaloupes were too! Bowls of ice cream made a great later in the evening dessert!!
All the requirements for my CT scan were completed ( prednisone and benadryl) ... I am contrast dye allergic so pills had to be ordered and the schedule followed.... but today was the day!! The scan was completed and home we went.
No reaction... hooray... but I do feel whipped!
In between all this I worked on a large mouse for the next show. It's taken more work since the Ultrasuede I am using for the tail , ears and so on is a heavy one and hard to sew through by hand!! Just the the paw pads and I can stuff it!!
Weather hasn't been too bad though this area is on a flood watch for a couple of days. No rain for our area yet... but south of us can have up to 8 inches of rain!
Mouse is done...need to accessorize!
I was supposed to have a ct scan this morning BUT they forgot to prescribe Prednisone and benedryl because I am allergic to contrast dyes.
So no scan...rats... especially after working our way from Blue Springs to the other side of town!! I470 and I435 are a b*t** if you are not familiar with all the Friday morning traffic!!
Getting a prescription and a new appointment for next Wed.
So when we returned home I finished a bear and Bob played on his X-Box
Yesterday afternoon was a scorcher. As we were heading out to MOOChoo's for dinner with our elder daughter the car's thermometer read 100F!!!
Luckily the restaurant had a/c and lots of ice water. Dinner was good... talk was good and birthday wishes plentiful!
But when I got out of the car at home the heat practically took me for a loop. Recliner to the rescue!
Today is light rain and cooler temps ... so far. Good for laundry! We are running out of underwear!
By the time we returned home and put everything away we were both hot and exhausted. Found everything at our Neighborhood Walwart but the Mater Man's booth was empty, Found the other veggie booth South on 7hwy in from the Blue Springs Fitness...peaches , zucchini and a red onion !
We have a heat advisory... and our temp is currently 95 F... so no cooking tonight. Ham, swiss cheese, tomatoes and red onion with mayo on a bakery roll is planned and I made a batch of carrot salad as a side.... and watermelon! Fresh sliced peaches with Cook Whip for dessert!
We enjoyed our dining room picnic
The car is back home!! The tire which Bob could not keep inflated evidently had something sharp creating a hole in the tread. The bad tire sensor was a different tire.... both have be fixed!! Hooray
Our daughter and her husband took Bob to Goodyear and he drove the car home!! No car rental necessary for my electrocardiogram appointment!
We spent the rest of the day enjoying the a/c... it was quite warm and tomorrow will be even hotter. Off to the grocery store EARLY!! Will stop at the Mater Man on the way home for more stuff. The peaches have been divine
Bob spent almost all day trying to get the tired to stay inflated.... no luck which meant we had to find a way to get the car to Goodyear.
I tried to get him to call AAA ( we have memberships) but he was positive that they wouldn't tow the car from our driveway. By late afternoon he was willing to call. A tow truck came and hopefully got the car to Goodyear before it closed.
Now we see what happens tomorrow... if necessary we will rent an Enterprise car so I can get to my electrocardiogram on Monday
Today has been quite a bit cooler.. nice! We had errands etc to run starting with my haircut. Bob sat and read while my stylist left hair all over the floor.
Then we were headed to the library but Bob heard weird noises from a tire. We stopped at QuikTrip's free air pump and filled the tires.
Bob decided it was safer to hear home and put off the other errands. Good thing... within an hour the tire was flat to the ground! Bet this is all part of Saturday's trip to Warrensburg.
Bob refilled the tires from our compressor and when the tired couldn't stay inflated ... called Goodyear. We now have an appointment tomorrow to replace the tire pressure sensors and to see what's wrong with the tire.... he will have to fill the tire extra-full and drive slowly to Goodyear.. fun!
We had many many spam calls today... all supposedly from Medicare. They're not going to get me!!
I am having trouble posting ... Here's hoping I'll be successful today.
It's been another hot day so other than getting ready for the quilting/craft group tonight we haven't done much of anything.
The quilting/craft group get together went well...Lots of talking ,,, working on projects ... and munching on all kinds of food items!!
Bob and I will check out the temps tomorrow morning and if things aren't too hot we will head out to the Brass Armadillo . We need some "steps" !
We headed out again...starting this time with returning a library book. Then we stopped at one of the "Mater Man" booths for tomatoes. peaches and a small watermelon. Then Bob and I "split up" . he went next door to CVS for his prescriptions while I went into our Neighborhood Walmart with a shopping list. By the time Bob was waiting for me and I had finished my list I was really feeling sick...it was hot and I was really thirsty.
But with Bob's loading and unloading the car everything was put away and I crashed in the recliner with something to drink!!
The craft/quilting group meets tomorrow so after recuperating it was time to get the dining room ready and the kitchen floor mopped...the cats do leave all sorts of stuff around!!
Speaking of stuff left around I have to put my work stuff away too!
Bob has already put his ham fest purchases away ... he is really pleased with them. After some work he will probably put some up for sale...
Bob and I left at 7 am for the hamfest in Warrensburg. It was a nice trip until the tire pressure sensor went off....Not much Bob could do about it since Mo 50 is so rural. ( after we arrived he did check the tires..nothing he could see.)
We found the county fairgrounds which is the usual site and unloaded everything after finding our table.
Early birds started arriving "early" ...even before Bob had unloaded his boxes! It was a good day. Bob enjoyed talking to the "vintage" lookers. Those are the ones interested in his vintage stuff. He told enough and another old ham talked him into buying his old stuff.... think Bob broke even!!
I worked on my stuff.. a few wives were interested enough to ask... guess they had been following ham husbands around enough!!
The tire sensor thingy still making itself know but our trip back was uneventful. The car has been unloaded and we are back to normal.
Bob will check into the car's problem... hopefully an easy thing and no expensive trip to the dealer!!
Bob did get invited to an even bigger ham fest this fall in Sedalia ... two days..Sedalia is about another half hour east... home of the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
