Found it

 The Police found Lili's car! They called her at 3.37 am! Wrecked of course..in Kansas. The thieves stuffed her stuff in the trunk and left of of their stuff behind... like the spray paint they used of the car!! But her coat and wallet are gone.

We think that the Police responded to an active accident... so maybe they arrested the thieves?? Lili won't know until she can call Monday.

The impound lot had her sign the car off and so it is now the insurance company's and she will not have to pay the rental fees.

Lili is really angry and has started on a replacement search...

Oh my!

 The last few days have been something else. ... My teacher/daughter's school is switching to a 12 month program and the changes must be in place by this June. Luckily she is not a regular teacher ( boy are they unhappy!) but the elementary teacher for all the schools' gifted program. She will have to move to another building and make some adjustments  but will not have to teach all year.

Then this morning we heard  that our grand daughter's car had been stolen  overnight... from where she parks outside of her apartment. Unluckily her wallet was in the glove compartment!

So Police.. insurance company, banks for her debit and credit cards...motor vehicle office on Monday to get a new temporary driver's license...

She and her fiance will work out a schedule to getting to and from their respective jobs using his car...Luckily two of her college classes are online.

She is handling things....

lunch out

 Yesterday my daughter suggested during her daily phone call that her dad take me out to lunch today. Great suggestion which I passed onto Bob.... I though a simple lunch at Panera or something similar. But no... Bob wanted  lunch at Ophelia's ... a very nice restaurant on Independence's square! Hooray!!

Of course it is raining this morning... hopefully it will let up a bit while we walk from the parking lot to Ophelia's!! 

We haven't eaten "out" since our trip to San Diego... We've picked up food to eat at home but not actually sat in a restaurant!! Looking forward to it...

Our grandson's music interests continue... He has a new private teacher  who actually plays the trombone. Dominic really likes him and should be learning LOADS. This past weekend  the band played a a concert which was held in Kansas City . Dominic said it was great to play in a facility built for concerts with great acoustics...

Lunch was great...leftovers for tonight!

20 years

I was going though my photo files yesterday. My grand daughter has sent me a picture from her Valentine's Day dinner out with her fiance and I wanted a photo from about 20 years ago... so here they both are!!

Time does fly by  She was a delight 20 years ago and still is one today !
 

Celebrations all around

 When the Super Bowl game was over and the KC Chiefs WON !!! ...fireworks were set off all around us!!!

And not just all around us but everywhere it seems. Our daughter's dog Harper had to hide!! She just doesn't like the noise!!

Some school districts didn't have school today... some businesses and school districts will be closed on Wednesday ( KC Parade !)... Some places near the parade route are selling parking spaces ! It is going to be interesting.

57 Years ago.... believe it or not

Here's Bob 57 years later and my surprise flowers!! They smell wonderful!

We're not in the mood to go out to dinner... with the Super Bowl ( KC Chiefs) things will be crazy so we have ordered pick up from Olive Garden...

We met at Syracuse University... at a Halloween event 10/26/1962.... married  2/12/66.. Robb 10/30/68... Laurel 7/27/71....Carolyn 7/3/75  (grands Lili 7/10/2002 ... Dominic 6/19/2006)

 

hide and go seek

Bob and I spent way too much time last night looking for the gray striped cat's pills... Bob has a routine for feeding him ( and the orange cat) his pills and we couldn't find them.  Hunted all over and when our daughter came to visit she hunted too!! No luck..

So he is off to the pharmacy for an emergency refill....

The cats were fed even without Jack's pills!!

Our daughter came to visit to escape a house full of teenage boys playing Dungeons and Dragons. Her husband was the "moderator" ... or whatever you call it. She came home from teaching to find one of the boys in her house by himself ( husband and son were coming home from Dom's jazz band class) tidying up. Our daughter was surprised and her dog had decided the boy was ok!! Not sure whether she will insist that the front door be locked now even for short absences...lol

Surprise!!

Woke up this morning to snow. Not a lot but enough to cause my son-in-law to slide through a stop sign on his way to work and for my teacher/daughter to have school canceled!! Luckily we don't have to go anywhere!!  BTW...no warning that we were going to have snow/frozen slush!!

So I will gather up all the laundry and take it down to the basement where the washer and dryer are!!

Here it is... 3 pm ... and not a spot of snow or slush in sight!!

Spent the day finishing a big mohair mouse and pinning together a mohair bear.... and the laundry!!

much better today

 sleep and coughing up lots of mucus helped greatly!!  and some Tylenol too.. Feel much better today and wasn't out of breath after a trip to Target...

busy morning

 Up early for my 2nd fluid removal......I can't remember how to spell it!! While Bob and I sat in the waiting room... just the other side of the windows a large Jeep SUV tried to go over a much smaller car. Yes... I said "go over". Then it tried to back off the smaller car. The smaller car's front quarter is shot... tire tracks all over... dents ... broken plastic and so on.

  After my procedure, while we were waiting for valet parking to bring our car, we were told the Jeep was a rental and the driver unfamiliar with the car. The Police were there and luckily no one was hurt!!

When I got home... I rushed up to the computer to see how the online bear show as progressing..

Then I spent the afternoon coughing and feeling miserable... lots of mucus  ... and finally fell asleep in the recliner.... and my chest feels like I have been coughing forever.
